Filter Floss Bio-Media is a lightweight and highly effective biological filtration media commonly used in AquaFalls pond filters as an alternative to traditional lava rock. Made from flat strapping embossed on both sides, this unique ribbon-style media creates additional surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow and thrive.

Unlike lava rock, Filter Floss Bio-Media is lightweight, long-lasting, and has no negative effect on water quality. Pond builders prefer this media because it makes installation and maintenance significantly easier—each media bag weighs approximately 4 lbs. when filled with Filter Floss Bio-Media, compared to approximately 40 lbs. when filled with lava rock.
