Non-iodized natural pond salt is still one of the best all-purpose Koi and Goldfish treatments and tonics and is especially effective for fish fungus and parasite infections.
Salt applied to ponds at the proper rate produces a heavy slime coat on the fish, better protecting them from parasites. It is a good idea to increase aeration in a pond when adding salt.
Salt can be damaging to many pond plants, so follow directions carefully if treating a pond with plants.

For best results: remove fish to a treatment tank if using salt levels above 1 lb. /100 gallons in ponds with plants. Treatment tanks should have approximately 3-4 lbs. salt/100 gallons of water.
