This 2 inch thick white filter media has a coarse density, making it perfect for catching debris while allowing water to flow through freely. It can be used in a variety of pond applications, such as in a skimmer, biofilter or even a small prefilter on a pump.
The textured substrate of this filter media provides a great "home" for good, beneficial bacteria to grow. Beneficial Bacteria help break down organic material and help to convert toxic ammonia in the water into nitrites and finally into nitrates (which are used by aquatic plants as a source of nutrients).
This universal filtration media is flexible and can be easily trimmed to fit in any application!
