This pond deicer by Pondmaster has a doughnut design which maintains an ice-free center while only using 120 watts. Best to place this deicer in the water before ice forms but if ice has already formed this pond heater will melt through a thin layer of ice. We recommend using this deicer in ponds up to about 1,000 gallons in size.
Has an 18 foot power cord. Thermostatically controlled (which means just plug unit in and it will turn on and off as needed). Will not harm rubber liners or preformed ponds. Backed by a 1-year warranty.
Note: If you have numerous large koi (12+ inches), then 2 deicers would be preferable. Deicers such as this unit have a built in thermostat and will melt ice to vent a pond but will not heat water over 40 degrees!

Supreme Rocks
This heater works great, it replaced a k&h heater which in had three fail within months. About 29 years ago I had (still have( a fishtail with a big old school supreme filter and one of their heaters. Both were at least 15 years old. Unfortunately one night the heater stuck or something and killed my fish. I was pretty upset and called Danner mfg to cry to j guess, and unbelievable they actually were like real people, apologetic, wow when does that happen these days, and ended up sending me out a new heater and filter pads and some other stuff in the mail! Even know my stuff was antiquated they never asked for a receipt they just cared. I never should have stayed when it came to pond heaters but i went by price and mistakenly went with that cheap Chinese k&h one. Lesson learned, spend a few more dollars and support a company that treats you with respect and you'll be happier in the long run! I also reviewed the k&h kn home depot's website if your shopping
