Heavy Duty Reservoir Grate for Water Features | 8 Sizes
- Ideal for pondless water feature construction.
- Heavy duty PVC, weatherproof, waterproof and will never rust.
- Very Sturdy; about 2 ⅝ inches thick.
- Self-supporting grate needs no additional support for most water features.
- If the grate is used to support any item weighing over 50 pounds, then cinder blocks should be added beneath, allowing the grate to support up to 1,000 pounds.
- Can be easily cut with a hand-held circular saw to customize its shape, if needed.
If you don't want a sagging or leaning water feature, then use this heavy duty grate to keep it upright and level. This sturdy, self supporting grate platform requires no additional support for most water features. It is commonly used to cover water basins or reservoirs that support bubbling rocks, fountain vases, pottery or faux rocks. You can also use this strong black grate to construct a pondless waterfall or different pondless water feature.
Duronet Hardware Cloth Plastic Mesh is available to keep out fine debris.
- The 24" x 24" size is cut to size from a larger 24" x 48" grate, so will have one cut edge.
- We recommend adding support blocks under the grate's center for any fountain, stone or other feature that weighs over 50 pounds because even a heavy duty grate can sag in time without support. With cinder blocks added beneath, this grate can support up to 1,000 pounds.
- This product is only a support grate. Basins, reservoirs and pond liners to create water features are sold separately.

Works like a charm.
I make several different sizes of water features and whether its intended or not, I will often cut the plastic grating to size and it is just as sturdy and strong. I usually buy 4 or 5 at a time and shipping is fast and order status updates for great.

Sturdy Grate
These are sturdy, high quality grates. I have placed them over the 100 gallon, in-ground tub that holds the water for my backyard water feature, which involves water flowing down river rock, then over a basalt slab and into the tub. I used two 24" x 36" grates and one 24" x 24" grate. For support, I created two towers inside the tub with 3 cinder blocks per tower (holes facing sideways). Placing the grates on the side of the tub plus on the cinder blocks allows you to stand on them without them flexing. I will place a single layer of river rock over the grates to make the water feature more attractive.

Sturdy as heck!
Before I placed my vase water fountain atop, I decided to test if this basin grate was truly sturdy. I placed it on my driveway, then I stood on it in hiking boots. I jumped on it in place. Then I jumped on it from a height of 3 feet. Then I asked my husband to jump on it, several times. This basin grate is sturdy and it may well survive in my backyard beyond my husband’s and my lifetime, the next owners’, and the next owners’. This thing is awesome. After my gardener installs this basin grate, and I also set up the fountain, I will update with a photo.

Fountain Basin Grate
OK, so...Sturdiness-OK, Easy to Install-OK, Warmth. REALLY, Warmth? It's a drainage grate. How in the F could warmth be a descriptive adjective for a drainage grate? A space heater maybe, but a drainage grate??? Anyway I give 5 stars but you really should evaluate your questions.

Strong, even after cutting in hiles
Exactly what I needed! Strong grate that holds a concrete waterfall feature

Easy to install and well built
Installed this product with no trouble and it appears well built. Given the weight of my fountain I placed a concrete block (recommended) under the center of the grate. Would recommend to any home owner looking to create an outdoor water feature.

Great quality grate for our water feature
We had an old rusty metal grate that held river rocks up and the water practically disintegrated it. This is much higher quality and very solid. Highly recommend.
