Formula F-30 Algae Control | Double-Chelated Algaecide
- EPA registered broad spectrum algaecide for ponds, lakes, reservoirs, swimming pools, and more.
- Safely controls most types of algae when used as directed.
- Active ingredient copper sulfate pentahydrate (10.9 percent) controls algae at 0.2 ppm to 0.4 ppm copper; has double chelated copper (organic chelators)
- Treat only 1/4 to 1/3 of the pond at one time so the fish can safely swim to untreated areas.
- Wait at least 14 days between treatments.
- Does not leave behind sediment, toxins or pollutants
DWI Formula F-30 Algae Control kills many types of algae including: planktonic, filamentous, hydrilla, chara and nitella. It is made for use in ponds, lakes, reservoirs, canals, lagoons, swimming pools, spas, hot tubs and other water systems.
It is an EPA registered algaecide and bactericide.
When applied according to label directions, Formula F-30 can safely provide effective control of problem algae in ponds with fish. However, like most copper-based algaecides, if applied improperly, Formula F-30 can be toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates so careful application is very important. Read the product label!
Treat only 1/4 to 1/3 of the body of water at one time because decomposition of aquatic weeds and algae reduce oxygen levels in water, which can harm or kill fish and other aquatic life. Start each treatment along the shore, and continue outward to allow fish to swim towards untreated areas of water.
One gallon of F-30 treats 1 surface acre (325,852 gallons) of water to 0.1 ppm metallic copper. Apply F-30 when algae first appears and the temperature of the water is above 60° F. Avoid use on windy days.
F-30 Algaecide is not registered in: AK, DE, MD, MT, NE, NM, RI, WV
How to Apply
- Mix 5 parts water with 1 part F-30, and coarse spray the mixture from shore on a calm day. Alternatively, a measured amount of F-30 can be poured into a larger body of water at several locations from the back of a moving boat.
- Wait at least 10-14 days between treatments.
How To Estimate Gallons Of Water/Acre Feet:
- Measure Length (L), Width (W) and average Depth (D) in feet.
- For Rectangular or Square shaped bodies of water: L x W x D x 7.5 = approximate gallons.
- For Circular or Elliptical bodies of water: L x W x D x 5.9 = approximate gallons.
- Divide Total gallons of water by 325,851.6 (gallons per acre feet) = Acre Feet.
Manufacturer Description
DWI Formula F-30 Algae Control kills most types of algae: planktonic, filamentous, hydrilla, chara and nitella. It is made for use in ponds, lakes, reservoirs, canals, lagoons, swimming pools, spas, hot tubs and other water systems. F-30 Algaecide is manufactured by Diversified Waterscapes Inc. This odorless algaecide is potentially toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates and can have long-lasting effects on them. (Follow label directions for best results and to minimize impact on aquatic life). Treat only 1/4 to 1/3 of the body of water at one time because dying plants reduce water oxygen levels, which can harm or kill fish and other aquatic life. Start each treatment along the shore, and continue outward to let fish swim to untreated areas of water.
One gallon of F-30 treats 1 surface acre (325,852 gallons) of water to 0.1 ppm metallic copper. Apply F-30 when algae first appears and the affected water's temperature is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix 5 parts water with 1 part F-30, and coarse spray the mixture from shore on a calm day. Alternatively, a measured amount of F-30 can be poured into a larger body of water at several locations. Wait at least 14 days between treatments.
