Great idea!!
This worked great, is a great product for water hyacinths or water lettuce. Although was a little pricey for what it is.

Got what I ordered
I love this floating plant holder for my hyacinths and lettuce. I just ordered another one today. Can’t wait to get it.

Good product, but expensive
The product is built well and works as it should, but is very expensive for a foam ring with a net attached. I need more of these for my pond plants and will be making my own. But it works as it should and the koi can’t eat my plants.

Could be deeper?
I wasn't surprised when I found this item on Amazon as I had been thinking of making one myself but this was ready to go. It works up to a point but my Koi can still trim the roots on the floating plants through the mesh. I think if the mesh had been a couple inches deeper it might have helped. It is protecting them more than just floating around on their own though. The goldfish jump in the ring and lay eggs on the roots so it protects them from the Koi.

The only way to save your plants!
These floating planters are great. They are low profile so do not detract from the aesthetics of your pond, while offering protection to the roots of your plants from being devoured by the Koi. I have used these for years and very pleased with them. The only con is they are a bit on the expensive side.

The water hyacinth grew great in the protector. Found out I needed the next size up.
